  • November 2 to December 30: Lens and Light – Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Bridgewater Photo Club.

Organized by the Exhibit Committee of the Bridgewater Photographic Society, this exhibit “Lens and Light” provides examples of how lighting is used to evoke an emotional response in photography. As photographers know, it is by using light effectively that a mood or emotion can be conveyed.
The Bridgewater Photographic Society is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary this year. It was formed in 1982 and incorporated under the Societies Act in 1985. Commonly referred to as the Bridgewater Photo Club, it was created to foster the appreciation of photographic forms of expression as well as development of camera skills. The club is still going strong with about 50 members.

  • November 3 to January 31, 2023: In search of Emotions – Photographs by Jostein Algroy.

Artist Statement

Emotions are as much an essential element of photographs as composition. Photos that evoke emotion simply portray a feeling. It can be open but also subtle. When portraiture has it – it makes an impact. But capturing emotion via photography can be incredibly tricky. Many photographers struggle to capture emotion in their work. As a photographer or an artist, my aim, over the next many years, is to strive to improve. This series of photographs is called “In Search of Emotions” and is the beginning of my long journey.
