8 10 2015

First of all, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Our next meeting will feature two presentations by Darryl Robertson, member of the Photo Guild of Nova Scotia. His first presentation is a show of bird photography from his backyard, proving that you don’t need to go very far to find beautiful and interesting subjects. Darryl will also do a presentation on Infrared Photography. The Infrared spectrum was first photographed in 1910 on a specially-created emulsion. By 1937, five companies sold Infrared film. The unique qualities of Infrared pictures have been explored by many masters of photography, including Minor White in the 1950’s. Infrared photgraphy is alive and well using digital cameras, and Darryl will give us an introduction to this world. Nancy Johnston is bringing a framed IR print by Eric Boutellier-Brown so you can see IR in the print medium.

Also at the meeting will be a show of our Eastern Passage field trip, put together by David C., and details about our next field trip on October 17.

NOTE: The NEW2YOU sale has been cancelled/postponed due to lack of interest. We may or may not revisit this at a later date.

I have two presentations stemming from the Ask & Answer program IF we have time.
1. What kind of tripod should I buy?
2. What is soft light?

Best regards,
