September 23, 2014 – 7:15pm
Approximately 35 people in attendance, three visitors

John Burnett – club member and Photographer of the Year in the 2013-2014 year presented his journey in photography taking us through his experiences beginning 41 years ago when he first began exploring photography as a creative outlet.  He shared a variety of wonderful images that he has created through the years, with both film and digital, that expressed his interests in architecture, portraiture, composition – especially with lines and colour blocks as well as post-processing.

Refreshments were provided by Hope and James Campbell.  Volunteers are still needed to provide refreshments for future meetings, please check the sign-up sheet for a week that would work for you.

Approximately 25 members submitted digital images as a way of introducing themselves to club members.  The images were varied and entertaining, depicting members’ interests and/or how they spent their summer.

A big thank you was given to Hope and James Campbell for arranging the September 20th field trip to Bear River, Digby, Smugglers Cove and Church Point where 11 participants were fortunate to view and photograph three historical churches.  Images from this trip will be shared by the participants at the October 28th meeting.

Grant Dixon provided information about the Scott Kelby Photowalk to take place in Lunenburg on October 11th from 3 – 5 pm.  Those interested can sign up at the Kelby World Photowalk website.

Karen Parnell-Herrick advised that Allan Swim, a local painter, is interested in creating paintings from some of our photographs.  An email will follow with details however, images can be submitted to Karen, he will choose the ones he would like to do and paint over the winter.  He will also be one of our guest speakers next year.  An email with further details will follow.
