Bridgewater Photographic Society Minutes

September 11, 2012

The September 11th meeting of the Bridgewater Photographic Society began at 7:15 with Derek Johnston presiding. Derek Johnston opened the meeting with a greeting for the 36 present.

Brenda Fitzgerald introduced prospective new members.

Nancy Johnston welcomed Steven Scott Patterson to our meeting and read us some of his impressive credits. We enjoyed his beautiful photos and good information.

Derek Johnston reviewed officers for the coming year.

Sara Harley spoke about the Debrisay Exhibit. There are eighteen exhibitors. The exhibit runs from September 23 to November 11.
The opening reception for the exhibit is on September 23, 2012, 1-5p.m. at the museum.

Sara Harley has produced a book about the 30 year history of the Photo Club which can be ordered. Softcover editions are $45.00 and Hardcover editions are $60.00. Orders will be taken until October 15, 2012.

Debbie Black spoke about the refreshment committee.

Nancy Johnston asked for any questions about programs. At the next meeting the speaker will be Fred Green who is an international photographic judge.

Teresa Alexander Arab spoke about sending digital images and what the nature category entails.
3 digital images size 1024×768 or 1 print 8×10. Digital images should be emailed to Teresa the Saturday before the meeting. There was also a discussion on how to name images.

Sara Harley spoke about competitions and trophies. There will be a new competition for the cover of our yearbook.

John Croft spoke about our library at the meetings.

Refreshments were provided by Debbie Black and Karen Parnell Harrick.

James Campbell presented a slideshow about Tancook Island.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
